just after midnight here in uh in Jerusalem, but many people watching and waiting to see what's happening with the negotiations between the US and Iran. Uh we know just a few hours ago, President Trump talked with NBC News and he said uh pretty much a quote uh the Ayatollah should be very worried. Uh and the backdrop about this is that the um negotiations that uh had been planned between the United States and Iran just uh several hours ago uh there were many reports that said the uh the talks were off, they were cancelled, that Steve Whit was uh leaving the Middle East and going back to the US. But uh after apparently a few hours of furious uh diplomacy behind the scenes, we understand that perhaps Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Oman uh working uh asking the White House to resume those talks. So apparently right now, as of um late Wednesday, early Thursday morning, the talks are back on for Friday at 10:00 local time. that would be in Oman and that would be between Steve Witco and also Iran's uh foreign minister. So that's his uh so talks are back on uh for some uh a bit of a disappointment because they believe that Iran has a history uh of stalling of delaying and extending these talks out so that they can play for time and survive survive uh what has been the worst protest uh or the the strongest protest against the regime since 1979. So that's uh at least as now the talks are still on. Uh apparently some of the disagreement between the US and Iran was about the uh the topics. Iran apparently insisting that it would only deal with Iran's nuclear program. However, Israel and uh Secretary of State Marco Rubio saying that the discussions have to include nuclear have to include ballistic missiles and the range of those missiles and also the funding uh by Iran for its terror proxies in the region including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and other militias. Uh these are the same conditions and as well of what they're the the way they've been treating the protesters. Uh we'll talk more about the protesters in just a minute, but Israel apparently also saying uh the same thing. They want to make sure that ballistic missiles are on the table. A very important uh topic for Israel. Uh also the nuclear but also funding the proxy uh terror groups in the region. So the u so right now there's been a lot of back and forth. some of the nations in the uh in the region uh do not want a US military strike. Uh it seems like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Oman uh and Qatar are lobbying the White House not to intervene militarily. And this comes as a huge military massive uh military buildup is in the region. We've talked a lot about the USS Abraham Lincoln uh air refuelers, F-35s, F-15s, uh all amassing in the region as well as uh troops in the region at US bases.
