Growing up in the '90s, I had a lot of love for two big things, cars and also gaming. In the late '9s, a formative game for me was released in Gran Turismo on the PlayStation 1. I loved building a car empire from the ground up, learning about horsepower, weight, drivetrain of hundreds of cars that I could also see on the road dayto-day. In particular, Japanese sports cars of the 80s and '9s were what I found most captivating. Not only the styling, but the potential they could all offer and the freedom to shape the car any way you wanted. You can see from my car history influences from games such as Gran Turismo, Forza, Need for Speed Underground, and Games of the Light. In 2015, I bought this Toyota Supra. It's revered amongst people of my generation as being the ultimate in expression and tuning capability. But did it have a turbo? Well, no. But then again, I bought it for 4 1/2 grand when at the same time you could buy something like this for a similar price. Sorry, Nigella. It was love at first sight really. And then after five or six years, I thought, let's do something a little bit different. Let's na tune it. Now, not that you'd know it. I'd kind of grown up by that point. I didn't necessarily want to see how much power I could get from the 2JZ, and I didn't want to put a massive turbo on it. I wanted that throttle response, the high revving, the drama, the theater. And I felt like the best way to achieve that was to really make that 3 L naturally aspirated engine sing. So putting on individual throttle bodies seemed like the natural thing to do. It wasn't easy. As you can probably see from my previous videos, it's now been 11 years since I bought the Supra and there's always been one car that I've always set my sights on since those early days in 1997 of playing Gran Turismo. The pinnacle of JDM. Cue the montage. Oh my lord. It's absolutely shining, isn't it? Wow. Wow. Wow. We're realizing a dream here, guys.
