How to get started in cybersecurity: HTB Labs - Episode #2

hey everyone welcome back to another wonderful video here at hack the Vox I am dark as always your uh indomitable host and today we're going to be taking a look at the first couple of boxes in starting point now these uh boxes meow and fun we are going uh those are going to be in separate videos so this video will be over uh getting everything set up with starting point and doing meow and then in the next video we will be taking a look at fun so definitely stay tuned for that second video uh that being said let's go ahead and dive right into turning point and take a look at meow now before we go ahead and start answering uh questions here let's take a look at the Box itself and then what is this thing that I have over here on the side now first and foremost the Box itself uh meow as you can see by the label right here a couple labels uh this box is Linux so you can hover your cursor over that icon and it'll tell you what the architecture is great if you want to maybe to prevask on a specific Os or maybe it's something you're a little bit more comfortable with Linux is a pair as opposed to Windows or vice versa now you can see that this is a difficulty a very easy any boxes that have this purple almost magenta ring around them are going to be very easy you can see if I scroll down here that we have a number of them in starting point that are all very easy but if you see that know that it's going to be pretty simple we have some tags down here now these tags are a little bit of a spoiler for what is going on inside the Box these tags talk about what specifically we are going to be doing with the box so uh you can see some Services listed there and some potential attack vectors now nothing too crazy that's something that we give you because this is a very easy box and we assume that this is something
