Hello, welcome to another video and today I'm going to be talking about critical hit damage in Borderlands 4. Critical hit chance, critical hit damage, the two different types of each because gearbox are awkward like that. And basically just a big catch up on everything crit since gearbox also like changing that a lot. Like what? Why? What? Okay, it's been a bit borked. But now finally it's all working as it kind of should. It's not super intuitive, but it all works. Now, uh to our knowledge, you never know with this game. Is there something always hiding? So, uh I will start with the crit knife. Since I've been asked, is the crit knife finally fixed? Since the crit knife has gone a bit of a roller coaster and before the most recent big patch, this was actually overwriting your critical hit chance. So, if you had critical hit chance bonuses from your skills, so say for example, I'm playing Vex. I have 30% from coven. I have 15% from target precience. And I have 15% from key mine for a total of 60. If I threw the knife for another 30, it would actually overwrite the 60 back to zero, give me my knife's value of 30, and it would actually reduce my critical hit damage. That is no longer the case. They have fixed it by making all forms of critical hit chance the same type of critical hit chance that the knife was. So now they just kind of stack together properly and the knife now stacks together prop stacks to itself properly as well. You can throw multiple knives. You can stack all sorts of critical hit chance uh bonuses together and it will just stack linearly as you'd hope and expect. So if you have 15% here, 30 from there, 40 from there, then congratulations, you've got 85. All works as you'd like. Also, in the past, if you rolled a critical hit through chance, it would not give you the bonuses of critical hit damage from pieces of gear, such as card crit on a weapon or from a class mod or something. It does now. So, if you hit a crit through crit chance, you will get all of your critical hit damage bonuses as you would hope. It isn't picky anymore.
