welcome to this ontologized tutorial my name is Taylor today we'll be covering the lesson on learn. pound.com speedrun creating your first data connection we're we're going to cover connecting to a database blob storage and a rest API this should be a fun one so let's dive in first off let's check out some of the prerequisites unlike some of the other lessons here this one has a few more prerequisites that may prevent some of you from doing this in a Hands-On fashion namely you'll need access to data connection the app you'll need the ability to make sources in data connection and you'll need the ability to import an a network egress policy a network egress policy is how Foundry will permit outbound Network requests to other systems so if you need to bring data in from an external database well Foundry needs to make a request to that database and bring the data back in network Eis policies are what let that happen because by default Foundry is is locked down so not going to let you make outbound Network requests by default the reason this may be an issue for some of you is these can be sensitive um permissions and your organization May limit them to only a select few individuals if you can't do this no worries just watch the video and you'll get a pretty good understanding of how to do it as you'll see a lot of the UI is pretty for so I'm going to show how to make a network erris policy here we're in control panel this is the portal for administering the entire platform and I'm going to make a new network Eris policy understand continue and okay here's where I configure the Eis policy to do this for this tutorial I'll need information provided in the lesson if we scroll down we see there are four Network egress policies to enable here so I'll just quickly make those one by one okay now that I've made all four Network eagus policies
