today I'm going to explain why grounding equipment makes us safe and in the process I'm going to explain why it should make it more dangerous but doesn't before I do that I'm going to explain a little bit of the basics I'm going to talk about something called thevenin's theorem thevenin's theorem tells us that any circuit I'm just going to draw something here have a battery and I'll just just draw some resistors here to represent some circuitry here let's make it kind of complicated here I'm just going to stick to DC no AC components no Active Components here and I'll just put some numbers here 10 or 10 volts you know 10 ohms 10 ohms 20 ohms I'm just making these up as I go along 40 ohms these represent the components of a circuit and let's say that this circuit has an output right here and the evidence theorem says that any circuit that produces an output in other words we have a voltage source and it gives us something useful on the end whether it's just a voltage to power something or if it's a signal that we use such as an audio or video or radio or whatever that this circuit no matter how complex can be represented by a single voltage source and a single resistor in series so I'm going to erase all of this and put a resistor right here in series with that and of course this voltage would be different we can calculate that out in out in in fact if you want to learn more about Devon and's theorem I'll just put five volts here because I can if you want to learn more about the oven and serum you can read about it in the lessons at RSD Academy I have linked below and I and I also have a video about that you can also that is embedded in the lesson and it explains just some Basics and shows how we can take a complex circuit
