have you ever wondered what it is actually like to be a flight attendant I'm talking about the daytoday grind of the job itself sure I have had magnificent trips over the last 6 years of flying that have taken me to incredible places around the world like Portugal Switzerland England and Hawaii just to name a few but in today's video I am going to show you what it is like to be a flight attendant based in the United States who is on call for a month in other words my Reserve schedule for the month if you are new here hi my name is Julia and I am a flight attendant based out of the Philadelphia Airport in Pennsylvania for the month of May I was on reserve and I thought it would be really interesting to document everything that happened for this month that I was on call in today's video I will be talking about our scheduling system the different flights that I worked how I get my hours and I do want to note that every Airline is different and honestly every month as a flight attendant is different throughout the year but this was just my experience I hope that you all enjoy watching this video thank you so much for being here and let's get started with day one that I was on call hey everyone so today is my first day back on reserve I'm starting a 3-day block so what that means is I am on call today tomorrow and the day after tomorrow and wouldn't you know it I already have a trip but what's nice is I was actually awarded this trip so yesterday I went on our employee website and I was able to look and see at all of the trips that needed coverage for today and I selected a few that I thought I might want to fly if I could get them and Crew Scheduling did give me one
