In this video, I'm going to show you a different side of Damascus . I'm going to show you the modern side , the shiny side, the side that perhaps you haven't seen on the TV . In the West, certainly we've seen Syria as a desert, a bombed desert . But today, I'm going to show you something completely unique . Before we head into Damascus and I show you this unique side , I want to show you something that's actually quite incredible . We are up at a viewpoint overlooking the whole of Damascus . This place was closed to the public and has been closed to the public for 14 years . It was occupied by Assad's military, but now uh people have come straight up and it's hard to believe they were never allowed here. Everyone is sat out on tables and chairs . There's pop-up stalls 's pop-up stalls and they are all enjoying the most incredible view . Hey, hello. How are you ? I'm fine, thank you. And you ? I'm very well, thanks.
