over the Trump administration's statements over the fatal shooting of Alex Preddy in Minneapolis by ICE agents. Newly released affidavits from two witnesses as well as video from the scene appearing to contradict the administration's claim that officers fired in self-defense after Preddy brandished a handgun. Here's what law enforcement officials said on the Sunday talk shows today. I think it's deeply concerning the things that are being said. This is an individual that was a city resident. It appears that he was present exercising his First Amendment rights to record law enforcement activity. He was in the scene actively impeding and assaulting law and that reason was to impede law enforcement. JOINING ME NOW IS MARILYN CONGRESSMAN JAMIE RASKIN, HE'S A MEMBER OF THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE. WELCOME BACK CONGRESSMAN. WE'RE GLAD TO HAVE YOU. SO THE ADMINISTRATION called Alex Preddy, a domestic terrorist, saying ICE officers acted in self-defense because Preddy wanted to, quote, massacre them. But an officer removed Preddy's gun before two other officers open fire and videos appear to contradict the administration's account. So how do you respond to the administration's version of events? Well, America saw some domestic terrorism there and it was domestic... Well, America saw some domestic terrorism there and it was domestic state terrorism, it was the government engaged in the suppression of speech, in the suppression of assembly, in the suppression of the press, in the suppression of the right to petition for a government for redress of grievances. All of that was happening, and we also saw a violation of the Second Amendment right in Minnesota to have both concealed carry and open carry, which is the law there. And that became the basis for first confiscating his weapon and then shooting him 10 times. So the way I see it is that ICE and the Trump administration are involved in the destruction of the social contract right now. The reason we have a social contract is because, presumably, we will be safer as citizens within political, organized society and government than we would be outside of it. But now the Trump administration is destroying every part of the Bill of rights. The First Amendment, the Second Amendment, the Fourth Amendment, the right for there to be a search warrant based on probable cause issued by a neutral magistrate, a judge, and not issued by an executive branch official reporting to the president.
