First time I've been allowed into a prayer hall in Chinese mosque. They've also got some security at the entrance to the mosque. Chinese Muslim. Chinese Muslim. Yeah. Hal. Yeah. When you think about Muslims in China, you probably don't think about the capital, Beijing. In this video, we're going to explore the largest community of Muslims here during the holy month of Ramadan. And you might be surprised about what we find. So to show Gazi and I around Beijing's vibrant Muslim community today is our new friend, Mr. Julie Muhammad Ali. Muhammad Ali. Yes. Yes. He's actually from Beijing. He's from the Muslim community here. He grew up in it and he's going to be kind of giving us some insider knowledge and uh showing us what's what. So let's get started. Let's go. Let's go. So before we head into the Muslim majority neighborhood here in Beijing, Mr. Joe Muhammad Ali wanted to show us a mosque in a regular part of where you wouldn't expect to find a mosque. So it's kind of a little hidden mosque. And it's about a mile and a half from President Xi Jinping's house. So it's definitely not an area you would expect to find a mosque. And it's still the Chinese New Year. So, it's just absolutely crowded with tons of people everywhere. Muhammad Ali, you said the Muslims in China, they don't celebrate the Chinese New Year, right? Yes. Because it's not uh Islamic holiday. Yes. Okay. I didn't know that. And this area is one of Beijing's famous hutong, traditional narrow alleyway neighborhoods. This one actually used to be the place where the glazing factory was located. So they would paint all the roof tiles for the palace for the emperor. But nowadays it's just full of shops and it's very touristy a place where they also celebrate festivals and holidays. One 2 3 4 5 six. Oh, six people live in this in this home in this residence. Yes.
