Staying with the NATO Summit, Trump is giving Erdogan just what the Turkish president ordered . F-35 stealth fighter jets are back on the menu and American sanctions are off the table . It was Trump who booted Turkey out of the F-35 program in 2019 because Erdogan purchased S-400 air defense systems from Russia . Fast forward to today and Trump has made a U-turn . While Erdogan is all smiles, not everyone is happy . Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants the deal scrapped . Greece has also raised the red flag . Now, we know about Israel and Turkey . Netanyahu and Erdogan certainly don't get along, but why is Greece, a NATO ally of Turkey, opposing Trump's deal ? Our next report has all the details . The 36th NATO Summit held in Turkey's capital, Ankara, has officially ended . Among the laughs, family photos, and defense deals, who would have thought that a bilateral meeting on the sidelines would make all the noise ? The one between US President Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan . During their meeting, Trump announced two major things . First, that the US would remove sanctions off Turkey and second, that the F-35 stealth jets would be sold to Ankara . I can tell you we're going to be taking the sanctions off . Okay ? I don't want him to waste his time answering that question because we're working very closely with Marco Rubio, very famous man, great Secretary of State, and with Scott Bessent, and with Pete and everybody else . We're going to be taking the sanctions off . Turkey's been in many ways much more loyal than other countries that we think would be loyal . So, yeah, something certainly we would consider . It's a great plane. . It's the best, currently the best plane by far . And uh it's certainly something we will consider . Here's why this is significant . The F-35 program was launched in 1995 . Nine countries were part of that program . The lead developer was the US, followed by the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Denmark, Norway, and Turkey . However, things drastically changed during Trump's first presidency . In the year 2017, Turkey under Erdogan's rule decided to buy non-NATO weapons . He met Russian President Vladimir Putin and placed an order for the S-400 air defense system
