Creating text reflection effect with regular text effect in Davinci Resolve (NO FUSION)
YouTube transcript, YouTube translate
A quick preview of the first subtitles so you know what the video covers.
In this video, I'll show you how to create a reflection effect for regular text. Unlike the text plus effect, the regular text effect cannot be used in the Fusion page. I have two layers here, a solid color and a regular text effect on top of it. The first thing you need to do is select the text layer and while holding the Alt key, drag it to the layer above to create a copy of the text. Now, select the text effect in the second layer. In the inspector for the anchor option, select the first type. Then from the settings tab, change the Y position so that the two texts overlap. Now click on the vertical flip option so that the text effect of the second layer is inverted and placed below the other text effect. Again adjust the position so that both texts stick together. Now increase the pitch value to stretch the text and create a reflection effect. Then click on this icon and reduce the text size in the X direction independently from Y so that the reflection size matches the text size in the other text layer. And finally, if necessary, bring the text closer to the other text layer again. And now to add a blur effect to the reflected text, you can increase the crop top and softness values in the cropping settings. This will make the top part of the reflected text slightly blurred and softened, resulting in a more natural and visually appealing reflection effect.
