Installing mods for Minecraft may seem complicated at first, but it really doesn't have to be. Whether you're just trying to improve your quality of life, completely revamp one of Minecraft's dimensions, or simply install a mod pack that does all the hard work for you, this video is going to cover everything. Today, we're going over how to mod Minecraft Java Edition in 2026. [music] And this will include all that we just talked about, alongside information like how to transfer [music] already existing worlds, customize already existing mod packs, among many other things. To begin your Minecraft modding career, you of course need to own Minecraft. And to purchase Minecraft, you are going to go to minecraft.net. The link will [music] be in the description. Once you're here on the front page, you should see a button that says buy now. Once you click on that, different Minecraft games. We of course are going to click on this one, as this is Minecraft Java and Bedrock. And because we are modding Java Edition, we are going to click our platform, being PC, Mac, and Linux. Now, you're going to be met with two editions of the game. Both of these are going to come with Java and Bedrock, but we are modding Java Edition, so we are going to buy the standard PC Edition. Now, this is going to come with Minecraft Bedrock Edition as well, but the difference is is that the Deluxe PC Collection comes with Minecraft Bedrock exclusive things, like minecoins, maps, texture packs, etc., which is going to up the price. All of that is paid content in Bedrock Edition, in Java Edition, you can just download that kind of stuff for free. We're just going to get the standard edition because it is the best bang for our buck. Once you select the standard edition, you are going to click on checkout, and then you're going to be met with this screen. You're either going to sign in to a Microsoft account that you already have, or you're going to make one. You have to have a Microsoft account to play Minecraft and for mod launchers to register that you own Minecraft.
