Nepal floods: The grim task of dealing with hundreds of bodies

Now for families desperate for news for their missing loved ones in Nepal , it is an agonizing wait . Rescue workers are continuing their efforts , but bad weather has been hampering them today . 3,000 people are still missing and nearly 700 people are now confirmed to have died . Our Asia correspondent Cordelia Lynch has visited the site in Bharatpur where bodies of flood victims are being identified before they're taken to be buried . A warning, our piece now contains images of body bags which you may find extremely distressing . The makeshift morgues of Bharatpur are overwhelmed . There's barely enough space for three dozen bodies . But there are hundreds . This is a very confronting scene . They simply do not have the storage here for the bodies of the dead and the victims here piled up about to be transferred from what's been a temporary space to the jungle . Now the forensic teams have been taking DNA samples so they can try and identify these people , but there is a huge task ahead . The numbers are rising rapidly, but the bodies are decomposing . So the teams have decided to gather DNA as quickly as they can before placing the dead in temporary graves . How challenging has your work been ? Uh it we can just pray to the God . We were there and it was a toughest job till the date . What we saw with our eyes was horrible scene . I cannot explain those in words . Some we can only we could only see the body parts . Do you expect the death toll to rise significantly ? Yeah. It is graphic, raw, unbearable . Yet it's the only way grieving families can find their loved ones
