[music] High above the city of Annabah, inside the Basilica of St. Augustine, a rare [music] moment is unfolding . A Catholic mass to install the country's newest bishop . [music] And for Algeria's small Christian community, this is a joyful and significant occasion . [music] As Miguel Guu steps forward, he is officially appointed bishop of Constantine , [music] one of the main cities in the country . [music] Algeria is a Muslim majority country . And among the congregation today are Muslim imams, a positive sign of dialogue and coexistence . But just outside the basilica, police officers stand watch . The government says there is full religious freedom here. Still, the security presence is a in Algeria comes with [music] conditions . Well, I'm standing here in the middle of these ancient [music] ruins of the city of Hippo Regius where St. Augustine was the bishop and where he [music] died in the fifth century . And on the hill behind me, that's the modern-day basilica of St. Augustine from the late 19th early [music] 20th century . The story of the Christian faith here is a fascinating one from a once thriving [music] Christian center to today a Muslim country . So, what's the small Catholic [music] Church like here today ? and what are the challenges that it faces ?
