I wanted to make a real long-form video on YouTube using AI . Not a short demo clip, and not the kind of low-value AI slop nobody actually finishes watching . Something that could tell a story, teach something, [music] or hold someone's attention all the way through . The hard part wasn't generating one good clip . It was holding the whole thing together . The plan, the visuals, the voice, the edit, all the way to a finished [music] video . So, the test was simple. Can . Can you build a long AI video scalable to 10 minutes or more [music] using only free tools ? Or does the chain break the you push past one nice clip ? [music] That's what I tried . What follows is what worked, what didn't, and what I'd actually use if I had to do this again . One thing before we start . Free doesn't have to mean low value . The goal of this workflow is to build long AI videos that are actually worth watching . Stories, mysteries, educational topics, documentary-style narratives, curiosities . The tools are free, the standard isn't . A couple of things are already out . Anything paid by definition . It gives you free access to a long list of strong text and reasoning models
