Welcome back to Rope Coaching. I'm Alex Puchio . Um, and I'm sorry to everyone that we took a bit of a break . Our daughter is 9 and a half months old now , so she has been taking up a lot of our time , but we are getting back into the groove of things . Today, I want to go over the five most common mistakes [music] that we see climbers from V4 to V7 range make . So, one of the first mistakes that we see climbers in the V4 to V7 range make [music] is with our feet, footwork . Because if your foot's not on it correctly , then how are you going to use it appropriately ? So, I'm going to demonstrate how [music] I want you to watch your feet go into every single hold and not kind of watch it or watch it 99% of the way , but a 100% of the time, watch the part of the foot , make contact with the hold, the exact part of the hold that you want it to go onto. . So, even though the foot holds are a little bit bigger on this one , I'm still going to watch where I put the part of the foot onto the part of the hole that I want . So, then I can utilize that foot appropriately . [music] I'm always watching even if I match , [music] even if I leave my foot . So, if my left foot I'm going to leave there, I still look down to make [music] sure it's where I want it and that I'm happy to leave it . And no matter how easy the climb feels for me, I still want to have good technique , especially when I'm warming up because that doesn't just warm up your bigger muscles , but also warms up [music] your mind and the mind body connection . Now, we're going to try to do the same principle, but on a climb . This purple one behind me has smaller foot holds . And remember that a lot of the power is [music] driven through the big toe . So, we want to really make sure that we watch the part of the foot go onto the part of the hold
