hey everybody today on R runs through we're taking a look at Shen conen 0k but before I get going please turn your subtitles on to the Klingon channel so that when I make rules of Goofs you'll know what they are and if you've done that well then welcome to Japan everybody it's 1959 and we have five short years to build the world's first bullet train line from Osaka to Tokyo just in time for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and I'm going to show you how this works today in a Solo run through it's going to be me building up infrastructure going up against an automated opponent over here with a little bit of a extra special board and some surprises along the way we'll see what hiio over here has in store for me so every time you play you are going to get a random assortment of five event cards for each of the five years and you can see there's a big old deck of cards that are available and these cards uh create all kinds of opportunities and most importantly right from the get-go they say how much cash we have on hand down at the bottom you can see there's numbers of how much yen you'll have one two upwards of three and what you're supposed to do is after you pick your five cards you tally them all up and I've done that which means I have 11 yen to begin my opponent doesn't worry about money they've got infinite funds of course uh but this is my starting Capital this is my starting engine on my bullet train and this is going to be the first event card of the first year and the most important thing it's telling us is layer f means means right now it is never in this game going to be more expensive to lay track than this first year it's going to cost 4 Yen uh and you will earn five victory points every time you lay track on any of the Cities not a good time to do it in this first year uh because uh paying four to get five is not the best return to lay track like if we wait until the last year when it goes you can see the letter D it comes over here
