Welcome to Breadboarding this is the ninth in a series of videos to create a simple 8-bit microcomputer on solderless breadboards and learn how computer hardware works . In this video we're going to be taking all of the components that that we've created previously so the main board with the CPU the RAM ROM and peripheral interface adapter and we're going to hook up the seven segment display and decoder logic and also plug in the keypad. Then we're going to pow . Then we're going to power it on and see if it all works So here's the Nanocomp you can see this is pretty much as we had it before I've still got a logic analyzer hooked up to both the data bus and the address bus and we'll have a look at that in a little while but first what we need to do is to plug in the components we created in the two previous videos so one of those is the LED display and th and this also includes the Darlington driver and the decoder that is used to select whether we're scanning the keyboard or which the digits we want to display what is actually easier using this ribbon cable than it was using the right angle connectors we'll leave the right angle connectors for the keypad on the keypad I have plugged in a number of cables and I've also then plugged these cables into the right angle connectors which we're then just going to plug into the address decoder there we're going to plug this in first of all and we're just going to do that quickly it shouldn't hopefully take too long so as I've said in previous videos what I've tried to do is to retain some of the color coding that the logic analyzers use and that they tend to start with the Channel Zero is purple then channel one is blue channel two is green yellow Etc so just makes things a so you don't make mistakes so what we're going to do here is the PB you can see here the B0123 so zero is the purple we need to plug those into the PB Port over on the PIA here so we're just going to plug those in making sure we on the right way zero one two and three let's just make sure okay that yeah PB0 now we expect to have a gap with PA7 here because that is not used in this particular design
