hey hey everybody baylor here in the big cozy chair and today i want to talk about some of the rare cards of slay the spire specifically the rare cards of the ironclad i'm going to go through each of them talk about them uh in brief when you should expect to take them when they're good to upgrade and when they're a valuable contribution to the deck if you like this video please let me know in the comments below what your favorite ironclad rare is and of course don't forget to like the video all right let's let's start barricade we'll go right in alphabetical order here good old barry kade lets you retain block from turn to turn it's a very expensive card though three cost three energy plus of course the card draw means that it's pretty tough to get barricade into play and once you do you still need to generate more block than the enemy is doing damage that makes barricade a pretty bad addition to your deck at the start of the game but as you get more and more sources of block if you've got upgraded block cards uh i find that barricade combos especially well with the card impervious because it gives you a lot of block all at once it also pairs really well with a colorless card a panic button which gives you a whole bunch of block at once for zero energy and of course the ironclad uncommon entrench which lets you double your block is also an excellent reason to pick up a barricade very good and a very good rare card with the snekoi boss relic snekoi makes all your cards random costs giving you bonus card draw there's quite a few iron-clad rares that are exceptional with this thing and of course the runic pyramid lets you retain cards from turn to turn barricade pairs better with the snekko eye than with the runic pyramid runic pyramid actually counteracts the barricade a little bit because if you can retain your block cards you don't need to retain your block overall i think barricade is weakest in the early game and the further on you go the better it gets being an excellent way to build a block against endgame bosses uh particularly the heart berserk gives you energy every turn
