Worry about the use of social media by young people has grown around the world and Japan is no exception . On Tuesday, a government panel of experts called on social media companies to take further steps to safeguard their young user users . NHK World's Arakawa Maho looked at how that might work and who's in favor of stricter rules . Social media is a part of everyday life . We asked the people how often they use it and what they'd make of rules restricting it . I'm against age regulation . Some people, including myself, only have a place to belong online . So, I think SNS should remain as free as possible . My parents limit my screen time to less than an hour, sometimes under 30 minutes . If you think for yourself and feel , you can just stop using it . I don't think those kinds of things need to be banned . I use my smartphone for things like gaming and watching videos . I also use a chat app to stay in touch with my family and make phone calls . I'm worried that strict regulations could create a strong backlash . The scariest thing is connecting with strangers without realizing the risks. . So, I'd like social media platforms themselves to have better filtering systems in place . I support age regulation . I think there should be a minimum age requirement for using social media. . Some places have already introduced age restrictions . Australia became the first country in the world to ban social media use for children under 16 came into effect last December . and Malaysia began similar restrictions this month .
