Fix: Windows 11 Drag and Drop not working

dragging and dropping files is second nature to anyone who uses a Windows laptop or PC but what to do if it stops working my name is yullah you are watching candid technology and in this video we are talking about how to fix non-functional drag and drop on your windows 11 PC one of the easiest ways of fixing uh drag and drop issues on Windows 11 is uh running the dism command on Windows Powershell so to do that just open the start menu and search for Powershell make sure that you launch is wait what happened yeah make sure you launch it as an administrator so we'll go ahead and do that give it the permissions it needs and now let me type in the dism command which is dism.exe slashonline SL clean up image/ this is going to take a while uh to properly process and run on your PC once you're done running it go ahead and restart your computer and Rag and drop should start working fine the next solution is a little bit unorthodox and uh honestly I don't even know how it works but if you go ahead and search for user uh account control settings uh make sure that they are set to default uh and not anything else uh because otherwise if you have settings set here or never notifi that can at times cost problems so make sure that these settings are on default and then restart your PC and try again next up is a small registry hack that we can do uh to ensure that we get drag and drop working fine so let me just go ahead and show you open uh press Windows key plus r to open the Run prompt so uh as you can see now we have our registry editor open uh quickly go ahead and copy paste uh this path from the description below I'll also put the path on screen so that it's easier for you to access all right in here you will see uh this flag called enable Lua and it's currently set to one what we have to do is just double click it set this value to zero and then click okay once again you will have to restart your PC for these changes to take effect once you're done try uh dragging and dropping again and hopefully it should be working fine
