Something profound a Sheikh taught me

How you guys doing ? Um I have a pretty interesting video today . I want to talk about a topic that I've been thinking about for a little bit . Um So yeah, basically what's happened is uh I've been taking this class with uh the Sheikh . And a lot's been a good class . And there's something profound that I learned that I wanted to share with you guys that um really really struck me in a different way . So basically, you know, as Muslims, right? If you really ask yourself why you do certain things , you know, why is it that we stay away from haram things , uh why we do the obligatory things , um why we believe certain things , etc. A common res- I mean, obviously everyone will say because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala commands it , right? Because he's the one who tells us to do it and we obey him. . Um because we want to get to Jannah, right ? That that kind of seems to be what the root is , the motivator behind everything is Jannah and then staying away from Jahannam or hell, right ? And that's the impression that I was under for most of like basically most of my life , most of my time as a Muslim at least was um you know , we're doing these things for Jannah ultimately . That's Jannah to Firdaus is everyone's end goal . Subhanallah . And um you know, that is perfectly valid and there's nothing wrong with that . But something the Sheikh was telling me about that was really interesting is that um ultimately that isn't the main reason . You know, and I was like I was kind of of why because you're saying why why is chasing the Jannah, even though it is Jannah of ? It's something that he made . And he was saying that basically the the reason we follow what he says is not actually because of the reward . It's because he is our Lord and just the mere fact of him saying it means that we should obey . Regardless of the reward
