It’s Time to Explain What’s Happening

What is up everybody? Welcome back to the channel. Uh, this video is going to be quite a bit different than what I normally post. Uh, but it is a very important one and I want to bring you into the process of what is going on here. So, I've been on YouTube for about 7 years now. Holy cow, seven years. Um, when I started this channel, it was very clearly a backpacking and camping channel. And honestly, it still is. That is the foundation. That is what this channel was built on. And that is not going to change. Over the years though, um, this channel has grown, not just in size, but also in scope. I've slowly added different buckets of content. For those of you that have been around for years, you know this. We've got backpacking trips, camping trips. Uh we have gear reviews. We do reactions to gear. We have companies coming to my backyard studio to show me new gear and to get me to give them completely unfiltered reactions to their gear. And we've also been doing these campworthy or crap episodes where I get to react and have this awesome banter with Lloyd over at Garage Grown Gear about all the crazy camping gear that he likes to show me. And people love those things. And then most recently, we've started doing survivor interviews. And that last one did not happen by accident at all. In 2023, the very beginning of 2023, I nearly died in the Grand Canyon. And surviving that honestly changed the way that I think about a lot of things. That experience honestly stuck with me. It changed a lot about me. It changed a lot about what I do. It changed a lot about my travel, as many of you know. And it's the reason I started having these conversations with people who have survived the worst moments of their lives. I want to know what are they thinking when they think they're going to die.
