this is the Baseline machine the Baseline is Loosely modeled after the legendary roll in tb303 it was intended as a base machine but because it's so configurable it can do a lot of cool lead sounds too it's a monophonic synthesizer meaning it can only play one note at a time so no chords but because it's monophonic there are some special things it can do and we'll get to that later on for now I'll just go through the controls and explain what they do so first up is the waveform selector you get two waveforms to choose from a Sawtooth and a square wave and they sound quite different so there's different things that can be done with each one next up is the pulse width knob now pulse width only affects the square wave so you won't see any effect if you use it on the saw too but on the Square wave it's quite significant you're basically going from a really smooth computery sounding Square wave to a really edgy one next up is tuning and that's a two um down by semmit tones um down by semmit tones next up is a filter section so you get a cut off and resonance knob next up is a filter section so you get a cut off and resonance knob so cut off off is just the high frequency content that's being cut resonance is sort of that gurgly sound that makes this thing very special next up is envelope modulation now this controls how much of these things go down next up is envelope modulation now this controls how much of these things go down as the node is being held the time at which it takes for these things to go down is determined by the Decay knob as the node is being held the time at which it takes for these things to go down is determined by the Decay knob so a fast Decay means they go down fast so a fast Decay means they go down fast
