President Trump appeals to allies to help defend Strait of Hormuz from Iran’s attacks | BBC News

President Trump has in the space of a few hours twice urged countries including the UK to send warships to the key waterway of the Strait of Hormuz which is being blocked to global shipping by Iran . Its foreign minister said the strait is closed for any ships linked to its enemies and their allies . It's meant that global oil prices have soared with no sign of letup . There have been USIsraeli strikes on Iran's main export terminal for oil, KG Island . President Trump said that US forces have totally obliterated every military target . Tonight, drones hit Q8 international airports radar system . And there have been other attacks by Iran on neighboring countries, including on the US embassy in Iraq, on Saudi Arabia and Israel , which itself has struck targets in Lebanon . There have also been evacuation orders for parts of Doha in Qatar . And in the United Arab Emirates, one of the region's largest oil storage facilities was hit by Iranian drones .
