Heat. Heat. N. This year marked Lufker Colult's 11th event and this time it took place on the East Coast in Durham, North Carolina. I was super excited about this venue as soon as they announced it. It took place at the American Tobacco Campus, which used to be the Lucky Strike Factory. I already pictured in my head a lot of brick buildings, a lot of industrial backdrops. I definitely was so blown away at how beautiful this location was for honestly the ultimate car show. Lufka call is one of those events that I've talked about many times before in terms of something that I just can't let go. So many events and projects we do now involve such a big team. It's not just me anymore, but Lufkault is one of the few, and I'm talking about two or three events out of an entire year that I do solo in every single way. This is including traveling to the event, photographing the event, editing them, and publishing the photos. This is the way I've done it since the second ever Lufka cult all the way till now. It's just very rare now when it's me, my camera, the subject, and all of the brain power that I have just focusing in and trying to make the best pictures possible. My plan of attack is always to go early, go the day before and shoot load in and get as many different scenarios and scenes as possible in as many different light conditions as possible. So, I flew in early to Charlotte, drove over to Durham, and I really pushed so hard for all of loadin day because it really is the only time that you get to see these vehicles run. You get to see them loading in. You also get to photograph these locations without any spectators or pedestrians or any people in the way. So for me it was just purely focused on the art of the vehicle and how it interacted with the background and how the shapes and the colors complement each other. There was just so much in terms of telling that story about these vehicles and how out of place they were in this location. One huge highlight for me was getting to watch the crew unload the Synokco 91730. They unloaded it and I've photographed this car many times before, but this time was different because they pushed it into a baseball stadium. The Sonokco vehicle ended up being the centerpiece for the kickoff party for the entire event that night. How I typically plan my plan of attack is to push as hard as possible to get the details, textures, vehicles, all the scenes wide and close up. Run through all of the different lenses that I have. I try my absolute best to get all of the car shots out of the way the first day because there's no spectators and because it
