At *Manseong Middle School’s* apple orchard, harvest season is underway, with pruning and pest control—including applying *no-fear paint* to prevent damage. Unlike regular exterior paint, this product prevents cracking from temperature swings (day/night) by reflecting/suppressing heat. If a specialized product were available, farmers would prefer it for better performance. That’s why *farm intelligence* and KCC collaborated to develop *fruitwood paint*—a water-based, tree-specific coating. Its heat-reflecting/blocking rate is **5–7% higher** than standard paint. In lab tests, untreated trees reached **13°C above ambient** during peak daylight, but coated trees only **3.5°C**. This reduces stress cracks from thermal expansion/contraction. Additionally, fruitwood paint resists peeling by **24x improving elongation** and boosts water resistance—cutting moisture damage. Unlike standard paint, it balances **high growth elasticity, durability against rain, and heat suppression**—all while costing **1.5x more** but requiring fewer reapplications. KCC and the Ministry of Agriculture will patent and launch this tech this month. MBC News, *Kyou Yang*.
