Today I want to mention a very curious situation that happened in the last few days because of the disastrous mega-operation by the Rio de Janeiro police in the communities there, which led to over 120 deaths. And so, some people were invited, public security experts were invited to talk about this situation, to explain the situation, which is expected in this type of event, when something related to a specific field of knowledge, a very specific understanding of a phenomenon, you call people who understand it. Here we return to the debate I had last week about appeal to authority, which is not a logical fallacy when you actually resort to competent authorities recognized in their fields to explain something, to use a reference, cite an author, cite a personality known as an authority in a field, that's not a logical fallacy here or anywhere else.
